A Long-Awaited Update...

To all my loyal readers, faithful fans, etc:

I know it's been awhile since my last post, but since Mom & Pops have been here, there's been no need to post! It's been a GREAT few weeks with them here...lots of pizza crust, pampering, playing, and even double treats sometimes (Pops says it's good for my joints, but I think it's good for my palate...yumm)! A few observations:

--Mom and Pops arrived home separately, Mom first...This took me awhile to figure out, but it finally dawned on me: Both of them coming home together at once after so long would have probably caused heart failure from overexcitement. They were thoughtful and spaced out their homecomings so I could live to tell about it. Thanks, guys.

--Now that they've gone, I'm still having a little trouble remembering which 2nd floor bedroom I'm supposed to sleep in at night. With Mom & Pops having just left, sometimes it gets confusing. Thankfully Uncle Taylor reminds me the master bedroom is now empty again, and so I turn around and sleepily head to his room.

--I'm a little unsure of this mysterious trail of soft things on the stairs. I try to avoid them if possible whenever traveling between floors, although it makes climbing a little tricky since there's not much room around them. I'm not sure what they're there for, but it's a little inconsiderate for Grampa Walt to have them left them right in the middle of each stair. Leave a little room for the big dog, huh?

I'll leave you with an Easter picture of me...I wanted some Easter candy really bad...can you tell?

She's Comin' Home, Folks!

So I saw the sitters' calendar...and I just might have the best news in the world (more exciting than the vet)...Mom's coming home March 9th! I'm already waiting for her...

If they want to make a good impression for Mom's first trip home, they better get working on all this dog hair laying around... surely they don't expect me to vacuum it up...that vacuum scares me...I'm not comin' near that thing.

I would also like to say that my mealtimes have become much more enjoyable now...I no longer have to maneuver my tongue around the suspicious green or white pills...or even the brown circular one that ALMOST smelled like my food. But not enough like it to make me eat it though...um...usually.

On the other hand, I've traded pills for ear drops...not sure which is worse...those eardrops are a pain...and twice a day. It just ITCHES SO BAD! I wonder if they notice after giving the drops that I stand by the door to go out...not to pee, but to shake that crap out of my ears! And why both ears?! I only have infection in one!

Can't wait for you to come home, Mom...you're nicer than the sitters...you wouldn't give me those awful eardrops, would you?

Today's Adventure

Today was the most excitement I've seen since I got those new yummy treats! I got to go to the VET!! No it's not all fun and games, especially when they take your temperature via your you-know-what, or when they use that loud silver elevator thing so they don't have to crouch down to my level for the exam, or when they stuck the swab down my sore ear, but all in all, an adventure's an adventure!

This was me this morning...I know...not a good picture...I was rudely awakened and my ear hurt.

I knew I was in for some excitement when Jess pulled out the leash!! YES!! I made my way to the door as fast as I could!

As we were headed down the steps to the car, she kept blabbing stuff like...careful, not too fast...too heavy...don't want to fall...baby inside...blah blah blah...

Here's me in my hot ride (you can't see the towel...obviously Jess doesn't trust me or my hair...puh-lease)...I was slightly annoyed that Jess wouldn't roll down the window... thirty degrees, schmirty degrees...whatever...I missed the wind in my face!

Mom and Pops, you'd be so proud of me. I was such a good dog, even when that no-haired wild beast of a dog defied his owner and came toward me @ the clinic...he tripped on his leash, though, HAHA, so I didn't have to open my mouth and show my ferociousness (as well as my tartar build-up, according to the vet).

Yep, a slim 92 lbs. Tell my sitters they shouldn't be skimping on the treats.

One more pic of me patiently waiting for the vet...

She was great, but I was too suspicious of that treat she offered. I definitely didn't eat it. It smelled like...medicine...or another dog...or something...I know not to trust food that smells like medicine...my sitters (& you, Mom & Pops) have tried that one too many times.

My First Magic Carpet Ride

Hey there mom and pops. Sox here. I don't know if you know this, but I have heard that my sitters are on their way to a particular country in the East--Ruffdia (There's a hint in there...) C & V were talking to me about "Ruffdia" the other day and I was just fascinated. I wouldn't mind going to a place like that--I think that it would be easy to make friends. They told me that there are other dogs all over the place with the goats, cows, chickens, buffaloes, elephants, and camels all on the streets and in the houses--all with the people! I would like to go there eventually and make some more friends. I have never seen a camel in our backyard or anywhere in Bucks for that matter. You may ask what about all this talk on "Ruffdia?"Well, since I have been sleeping upstairs, I have found a new favorite rug. It is right outside of the bathroom. V has found me asleep on the rug outside of their door in the mornings lately. (I sleep upstairs now that T & J are away for a short while.) Anyways, she was telling me that my new rug is a "magic carpet" from "Ruffdia". It sure is magic. That is the softest wool and cotton I have ever felt in all of my doggy years. I'll show it to you when you come home. They told me that if I learn to speak Hindi, Ruffaste (like Namasthe), that the rug would fly.

It snowed and iced a little bit today. It has been cold, but you know me--I love the snow. I asked C & V about the weather in Australia, and they told me that you were probably on the beach today getting a sun-tan. I look pretty tan in this picture, don't I???

I'm keeping watch over our deck, the grill, and our table. I'm making sure that my little domain is nice and tidy. I am still doing my rounds in the back yard, walking along the fence and barking at squirrels and deer.

I can't wait to stop taking the medicine. I threw up some on C the other night as he was "administering" me "my" pills. What does that word mean anyways--"Administer?" C told me that it was time for him to administer pills, and I turned my head, then my stomach. I actually didn't throw up--I rather spit up those nasty tasting things on his jeans--left a nice white stain on his right pant-leg.

To wrap everything up, basically when you come home and you see me flying around the house on a rug, it is only because I can speak another language. I love my magic carpet. I love you and miss you.

Of Bedskirts, Balls & Bats

So I'm sleeping mostly in Taylor & Jessica's room...they think it's because I like them...I think it's because one flight of stairs is tiring enough...two flights could be deadly. T & J seem to like my company...although I'm making them second-guess their black bedskirt purchase...I've left my hairy mark all over it! HaHa!

Yeah, I still have my yellow light-up ball. Here's some pics of me with it. I definitely like those ping-pong balls downstairs, though--much more bite-able. Last time I was down there, I stole one, and they all had a hard time getting it from my kung-fu jaw grip. My hips may barely hold me up, but my mouth's still got it. Yep.

Mom, I wish I was there to explore with you. I'd definitely be protecting you from those fruit bats.

It's for You

(Still look the same, huh?)

Besides all the sleeping I've been doing lately, I've also been missing you, Mom & Pops. So when Clint suggested I start a blog like everyone else has, I figured it'd be a good way to sleep less and do more. Besides, there's so many computers around now with all these new people here, so it shouldn't be a problem posting. So, Mom & Pops, this blog is for you from your "buddy." And you better be thankful...I'm wasting sleep doing this.

Taylor's a camera freak, which I guess is okay, so I'll have pics to post of me.

Oh, one thing....where did you find these Sox-sitters, anyway?? They're way too gullible. I can pretend to go do my business like three times in a row, and they'll give me a treat every single time! They've given me suspicious looks, but I don't think they've caught on yet. And boy are those new treats good!

(Still enjoying my favorite thing to do...)
